Spin Structure Functions from Lattice QCD ∗

چکیده
We report on new results of the spin dependent structure functions g 1 and h 1 of the nucleon. An attempt is made to convert the moments, which is what one computes on the lattice, to quark distribution functions.

We calculate the lower moments of the deep-inelastic structure functions of the pion and the rho meson on the lattice. Of particular interest to us are the spin-dependent structure functions of the rho. The calculations are done with Wilson fermions and for three values of the quark mass, so that we can perform an extrapolation to the chiral limit.

We present the recent JLab measurements on moments of spin structure functions at intermediate and low Q2. The Bjorken sum and Burkhardt-Cottingham sum on the neutron are presented. The later appears to hold. Higher moments (generalized spin polarizabilities and dn 2) are shown and compared to chiral perturbation theory and lattice QCD respectively.
